BLOCK Y

RoyalGate Energy is working to realise the untapped potential of Equatorial Guinea’s Rio Muni basin as a partner in Block Y.

>   PSC for Block Y ratified on April 9, 2013

>   Xuan Energy is the operator

>   State-owned GEPetrol is a partner

>   Block Y borders legacy producing oilfield Okume

>   Water depth up to 1,200 meters

RoyalGate Energy has partnered with operator Xuan Energy to explore Block Y offshore Equatorial Guinea, along with private partners and the national oil company GEPetrol.

The block’s eastern boundary meets the coast of the Rio Muni mainland section of Equatorial Guinea and it extends outward to a water depth of 1,200 meters. The production sharing contract for this block was ratified in April, 2013, alongside the contract for Block Z.

At the southwestern boundary of Block Y is the Okume field, which began production in 2006, and further to the southwest is the Ceiba field, which has been producing since 2000. These fields have historically been two of Equatorial Guinea’s most prolific.

In 2015 RoyalGate Energy is working with the operator and partners on a comprehensive exploration campaign for Block Y.
